It ...I've just read David Brooks's article. It left me feeling stunned.<br /><br />Yes, we have all got ,"flabby," in the rigour of our thought and mental character. We get immediate rewards for the pleasing option, the pleasing thought, rather than for what we believe.<br />No, let me retract that last statement. The worst of it is, because we've gone for the pleasing option so often we think that's the only one.
